Management Commands

Command

Description

CHECK

Tells a scheduler to do a consistency check on a database and update its internal structures and counters to reflect the database and the current state of the system.

CLOSE LOG_FILE

Closes and renames the event-log file while the manager is running.

CONFIG

Creates, modifies, or deletes Load Balance Group definitions.

DELETE

Deletes one or more jobs or a Special Day Class from the database. This is a management command only when used to delete a Special Day Class.

DELETE NSCHED$:RETRY.DAT;

Deletes (stops) all remote node notifications currently being retried over the network. This command does not begin with SCHEDULE.

OPTIMIZE DATABASE

Reclaims unused space and optimizes the jobs database.

RUN NSCHED$:DB_UTILITY.EXE

Repairs the jobs database. This command does not begin with SCHEDULE.

RUN NSCHED$:VSS_REPORTS.EXE

Invokes the event-log report utility to select event-log report criteria and display or print a report. This command does not begin with SCHEDULE.

SET DEBUG

Sets debug logging for the manager.

SET DEFAULT

Sets the default manager node for a cluster.

SET FISCAL_YEAR

Defines a fiscal calendar to be used by the manager.

SET LOAD_BALANCE

Turns the load-balancing feature on or off in an OpenVMS Cluster.

SET LOGGING

Controls the event classes written to the Job Management Manager event-log file.

SET MAX_JOBS

Sets the limit for the maximum number of jobs that can be run simultaneously.

SET NETWORK EXPIRATION_RETRY

Sets the maximum time that a job-dependency notification on a remote node can be retried over the network.

SET NETWORK INTERVAL_ENTRY

Sets the interval for retry of notification of job completion on remote nodes during communication failures on a wide area network.

SET PRIORITY

Sets default run-time priority for jobs.

SHOW NETWORK

Shows the retry interval, retry expiration time, retry alias, and information about retry operations in progress on the local OpenVMS Cluster.

STOP

Stops the manager on one or more nodes.

TYPE NSCHED$:RETRY.LOG

Shows a history of every notification retry event attempted by a remote node. This command does not begin with SCHEDULE.
