Collecting Diagnostic Data

In the table following, use the left column to categorize the problem your site has encountered. Then, follow the instructions in the corresponding right column to generate useful diagnostic data.

Running CA JCLCheck

If CA JCLCheck abends:

  • Check console log for messages
  • Look for CAY6195S message
  • Retain all dumps and reports

If CA JCLCheck issues a PROCXX DD statement missing message or a message that it is unable to initialize AUTOPROC:

  • Check that CA JCLCheck was authorized. For more information, see the installation steps in the Installation Guide.

If CA JCLCheck issues an incorrect message or does not issue a message it should have issued:

  • Review CA JCLCheck output, especially reports 2 and 6
  • Review runtime and default options
  • Review options
  • Review JCL table modifications
  • Review user exits options
