The CAISERV diagnostic facility produces a problem report for you to fill out and send in with all problem documentation.
CAISERV also produces a short report on the CA products that you have installed. You should send this information to help Technical Support solve your problem.
To invoke CAISERV, execute the CAISERV proc in your sample JCL library:
// EXEC CAISERV,CAILOAD='CAI.CAZ2LOAD', // CAILPA='CAI.CAZ2LPA', // CAICICS='NULLFILE', // SYSOUT=A //
Edit the JCL to your installation's standards, and submit the job.
This job will produce a report similar to the following to SYSPRINT:
CA PROGRAM STATUS REPORT CAISERV-01 PAGE 01 CAISERV 1.0 8902PP00 OPSYS='z/OS' dd mmm yyyy **************************************************************************************************** * * * CA PROBLEM REPORT FORM * * * **************************************************************************************************** * * * CUSTOMER ID : _________ * * COMPANY NAME : ___________________________________ * * * * COMPANY ADDRESS : ___________________________________ * * ___________________________________ * * ___________________________________ * * * * CONTACT NAME : _________________________ * * * * TELEPHONE NUMBER : _______________ EXTENSION : ____ * * * **************************************************************************************************** * * * HARDWARE INFORMATION * * * * CPU MODELS, STORAGE SIZES AND CPU IDS * * CPU 1 : ____ ____ ________________ CPU 2 : ____ ____ ________________ * * CPU 3 : ____ ____ ________________ CPU 4 : ____ ____ ________________ * * * * DIRECT ACCESS STORAGE DEVICES * * DASD 1 : ________ DASD 2 : ________ * * DASD 3 : ________ DASD 4 : ________ * * * * TAPE DEVICES * * TAPE 1 : ______ TAPE 2 : ______ * * TAPE 3 : ______ TAPE 4 : ______ * * * **************************************************************************************************** * * * SOFTWARE INFORMATION * * * * OPERATING SYSTEMS * * OPSYS 1 : ________ OPSYS 2 : ________ * * OPSYS 3 : ________ OPSYS 4 : ________ * * * * OTHER SYSTEM SOFTWARE * * (VENDOR AND/OR IBM) _____________________________________________________________ * * * **************************************************************************************************** * * * PROBLEM SEVERITY * PROBLEM TYPE * **************************************************************************************************** * * * * ______________________________________*___________________________________________________ * * * * * ______________________________________*___________________________________________________ * * * * * ______________________________________*___________________________________________________ * * * * * ______________________________________*___________________________________________________ * ****************************************************************************************************
Fill in the form completely. This information will be logged into the CA Technical Support system and will be tracked from the time it is reported to the time it is closed.
On the next page of the problem report, describe the problem you are experiencing. The headings on this page look like this:
CA PROGRAM STATUS REPORT CAISERV-01 PAGE 02 CAISERV 1.0 8902PP00 OPSYS='z/OS' dd mmm yyyy ************************************************************************************************************************ * * * CA PROBLEM REPORT FORM * * * ************************************************************************************************************************ * * * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION : * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ************************************************************************************************************************
The last page of the problem report provides a status of the CA Technologies products that you have installed. In most instances, this report includes the product version number, genlevel, and installation options. This is a sample of a report for CA TLMS:

Action:
Use at least 100 KB of storage for executing CAISERV.
Reason:
Libraries are not properly concatenated.
Action:
Review and modify the JCL. Execute CAISERV.
