Suffix codes can be divided into four basic groups:
codes that affect a control group.
codes affecting the initial definition of all fields.
codes that affect date and time fields. Suffixes for date fields affect the internal format of dates; time field suffixes affect the way times are printed.
codes that affect the printing of a field.
Several suffix codes are included in more than one of these groups. Tables of each of these groups are provided on the following pages. Each table describes the suffix codes associated with a specific group, and lists the control statements that the suffix codes can be used in.
You can append multiple suffix codes to a field name in a CA JARS Wizard run, such as field name(a)(b)(c), as long as the suffix codes do not contradict each other. Suffixes must be appended to the field name or to each other without intervening blanks.
The following suffix codes are mutually exclusive: (AV), (CT), (DF), (DL), (MN), (MX), (PC), (SD), and (TL). They cannot be specified together in an individual reference for a particular field. They may, however, be specified in different references for the same field.
