Nonglossary files are defined by the INPUT statement with the operand FILE, CARDS, or member-name. When no glossary file is included in the same CA JARS Wizard run, a maximum of four such files can be defined. When you are performing file matching functions, up to three nonglossary files can be defined in addition to the glossary file.
Reference to fields in nonglossary files is made through fCCa-b notation, where a is the starting position and b is the ending position of the field. f is the file sequence number and has a value from 1 to 4. The value of f corresponds directly with the physical sequence of the input files as follows:
with two glossary files:
first glossary file f = 1 is assumed by CA JARS Wizard first nonglossary file 2CCa-b second glossary file f = 3 is assumed by CA JARS Wizard second nonglossary file 4CCa-b
without a glossary file:
first nonglossary file 1CCa-b second nonglossary file 2CCa-b third nonglossary file 3CCa-b fourth nonglossary file 4CCa-b
If only one nonglossary file is present, f may be omitted.
Note: The first physical input file, whether glossary or nonglossary, is considered to be the primary input file (f = 1). All computations, selections, and so forth, are performed against this file only. All other files, if any, are considered to be secondary files.
