Enter one to eight data field names in descending order of importance. All must be glossary names for data fields in the input file or work fields generated before the SORT. The order of entry must be consistent with the SORT statement for the run. The field specified must not be more than 30 characters in length.
designates a conditional break. The break occurs only when the condition is satisfied.
See the discussion on the SELECT statement for the format and usage of conditional tests.
All parameters specifying a SELECT condition criterion can be used in the BREAK statement prefixed by IF.
Examples:
1. BREAK IF MATCHED 2. BREAK IF DAY EQ '15'
represents any string of characters to be printed as the heading on the totals line for this data field.
Overrides the automatic break title of field-name TOTAL at control break lines.
CA JARS Wizard prints the contents of the specified data field as part of the heading. The value is taken from the first record in the break group. It is printed immediately after the heading text. If there is no heading text, it is printed at the extreme left side of the totals line.
Overrides the automatic break title of field-name TOTAL at control break lines.
ignores errors in the sort sequence for any of the BREAK control fields.
The following suffix codes can be used with data field names in a BREAK statement for detail reports:
prints a line of dashes after the totals line.
indicates that the relevant field has been sorted in descending sequence.
forces the break title for the control break to be right-justified, that is, to the immediate left of the leftmost break total.
suppresses the printing of totals for this break, if there is only 1 break at the lower level, or in the case of the lower level break, only 1 record. For LIST(SUM), SB on the lowest level break is ignored.
skips n lines after the total line and before printing the next total line or the first record of the next control group.
skips to a new page after printing the totals line for this control group.
If neither (Sn) nor (SK) is specified, the CA JARS Wizard action depends on whether it is generating a detail report (LIST) or a summary report (LIST(SUM)), as follows:
|

A suffix specification for a low control break overrides a default specification for a higher control break. For example, if SK is specified for a level 1 break, it applies for all higher breaks.
