The DEBIT statement, identified by the statement type DEBIT, is optional. It is used in a similar manner as the CREDIT statement to supplement the accounting algorithms defined on the RATE statements. Debits may be introduced to the Wizard Report Writer to be applied to a specific transaction or summarization level (such as account, department, project). The DEBIT statement format and processing is identical to that of the CREDIT statement described earlier. The only difference is in the use of the amount field, which has the effect of increasing the charges.
