The primary task of CA InterTest for CICS is to monitor programs to detect and prevent errors. When you set monitoring for a program, CA InterTest for CICS detects and prevents errors before they occur. That means monitored programs will not abend or commit storage violations.
This chapter describes the Monitoring Menu Options (Option 2 on the Primary Option Menu) that let you take advantage of the full range of CA InterTest for CICS monitoring capabilities. For example, use the monitoring menus to set monitoring for programs, all programs executed by a transaction, or all the programs executed from a terminal. Use the menu to invoke many options for monitoring, such as breakpoints, data monitoring, indirect commands, CICS resource replacement options, and system‑wide options. The monitoring menus also enable you to get a selective Monitoring Status report.
