Managed Object Overview

CA IdentityMinder administrators perform admin tasks against managed objects. The CA IdentityMinder APIs let custom objects manage or modify managed objects to satisfy the particular business requirements of the site.

Managed objects can be any of the following kinds of objects:

• Objects defined in the CA IdentityMinder Directory for a particular CA IdentityMinder environment (User, Group, Organization).

  A CA IdentityMinder Directory defines a logical view of users, groups, and organizations whose physical definitions are stored in a user directory. For each of the logical objects, a single CA IdentityMinder object-class is defined.

• Proprietary objects defined within a CA IdentityMinder environment (Admin Role, Admin Task, Access Role, Access Task, Password Policy).
• Objects defined in the Provisioning Directory associated with the CA IdentityMinder environment (ProvisioningRole).

A managed object contains a set of attributes that define the object’s profile. For example, a User managed object would include the user’s name, address, title, password settings, enabled state, and other information about the user.
