FIPS Mode Detection

To determine whether CA IdentityMinder is operating in FIPS mode or in non-FIPS mode, use the CA IdentityMinder Environment status page.

To view the status page, enter the following URL in a browser:

http://server_name/iam/im/status.jsp
server_name

Determines the fully qualified domain name of the server where CA IdentityMinder is installed, for example, myserver.mycompany.com. In this example, the complete URL is:

http://myserver.mycompany.com/iam/im/status.jsp

The FIPS status is displayed at the bottom of the page.

Note: You can also check if CA IdentityMinder is operating in FIPS mode by locating the following key file:

/config/com/netegrity/config/keys/FIPSkey.dat

If this file exists, CA IdentityMinder is operating in FIPS mode.

The password tool utility, pwdtools.bat (or pwdtools.sh) creates the FIPSkey.dat key file during CA IdentityMinder installation.
