Installation

The CA IdentityMinder installer allows you to configure CA IdentityMinder to comply with FIPS 140-2.

All components in a CA IdentityMinder environment must be FIPS 140-2 enabled for CA IdentityMinder to support FIPS 140-2. You need a FIPS encryption key to enable FIPS 140-2 during installation. To generate a FIPS encryption key, run the Password Tool (pwdtools.bat/pwdtools.sh) from where you unpacked the install package. The Password Tool is available in the following locations:

Note: The Password Tool is also installed in the following location:

C:\Program Files\CA\Identity Manager\IAM Suite\Identity Manager\PasswordTool\pwdtools.bat

Important! Use the same FIPS 140-2 encryption key in all installations, and be sure to safeguard the Password Tool generated key file.
