How to Configure an Approval Policy
Configuring an approval policy for an event or task involves the following steps.
- Select an object to test.
- Define an approval rule for the object.
- For primary objects, decide if this is a conditional evaluation.
- Enter the order of policy evaluation.
- Configure a workflow process to run if the rule is true.
To configure an Approval Policy
- On the Approval Policy screen, select an object for the rule to test from the drop-down list.
The screen changes to reflect your selection.
- From the new drop-down next to the object name, select a condition expression template.
The screen changes to reflect your selection.
- Create and edit your condition expression as required.
- Select the Rule Evaluation option button to indicate if the rule is always evaluated, or only if an attribute in the approval condition changes.
- Enter a positive integer value to specify the policy evaluation order (in case there are multiple policies for the event).
- Select and configure the workflow process that executes if the rule evaluates to true.
- Click OK to save the approval policy.
