Servers

A CA IdentityMinder implementation includes one or more types of servers, depending on the functionality you need.

CA IdentityMinder Server (required)

Executes tasks within CA IdentityMinder. The J2EE CA IdentityMinder application includes the Management Console and the User Console.

CA IdentityMinder Provisioning Server

Manages accounts on endpoint systems.

This server is required if the CA IdentityMinder installation will support account provisioning.

Note: You must have the Provisioning Directory installed remotely (or locally for a demonstration environment only) on a CA Directory Server before installing the Provisioning Server.

SiteMinder Policy Server

Provides advanced authentication for CA IdentityMinder, and provides access to SiteMinder features, such as Password Services and Single Sign-On.

This server is optional.
