Passwords on Command Lines

In UNIX, command-line arguments are public to anyone who can use the ps command on the UNIX system. Therefore, you should never supply a password or other sensitive information as a command-line argument. Each CA IdentityMinder command accepts input from a file so you can avoid entering data on the command line. Often, the command-line parameter is still allowed for backwards compatibility with Windows.
