How to Configure CA IdentityMinder Agent Settings

When CA IdentityMinder integrates with SiteMinder, CA IdentityMinder uses a built-in CA IdentityMinder agent to communicate with the SiteMinder Policy Server. To tune the performance, configure the following connection settings for the CA IdentityMinder agent.

1. Complete one of the following steps:
   • If CA IdentityMinder is running on a WebLogic or WebSphere application server, edit the resource adapter in the policyserver_rar connector descriptor in the console of application server.
   • If CA IdentityMinder is running on a JBoss application server, open policyserver-service.xml from <JBoss_home>\server\default\deploy\iam_im.ear\policyserver_rar\META-INF.
2. Configure the settings as follows:

   ConnectionMax

   Sets the maximum number of connections to the policy server, for example, 20.

   ConnectionMin

   Sets the minimum number of connections to the policy server, for example, 2.

   ConnectionStep

   Sets the number of additional connections to open when all the agent connections are in use.

   ConnectionTimeout

   Specifies the amount of time in seconds that the agent is required to wait to connect to SiteMinder before timing out.

3. Restart the application server.
