DYN GUI

The DYN GUI is a data driven GUI in the Provisioning Manager. It uses Connector Xpress generated metadata describing a JDBC or JNDI connector to display the following for accounts, account templates, group, containers, and endpoints:

• Fields
• Labels
• Selection controls (for example, a date picker for date fields)

It also:

• Performs validation of user supplied values
• Populates fields with default values
• Splits fields across tabs

The DYN GUI in the Provisioning Manager allows you to manipulate arbitrary endpoint objects with a single Provisioning Manager plug-in.

The DYN GUI leverages the general controls of that application with dynamic property sheets defined at run-time by a metadata XML stream, known as the model metadata.

For example, when you map a field in Connector Xpress, an item is placed in the metadata to represents that field. Whenever you examine any object in that connector, the DYN GUI uses the metadata to display the appropriate fields.
