Configure Connection Parameters for CA Identity Manager

The connector communicates with CA Identity Manager to exchange data. Create a file containing the network addresses and login information CA RCM needs to establish this connection.

To configure connection parameters for CA Identity Manager

  1. Run CA RCM Data Management.
  2. Click Import, Import from Identity Manager.

    The Connector window appears.

  3. In the Connection Details section, click Open and select a connection settings file.

    Note: The defaultSettings.xml file contains typical default settings. Copy and rename the defaultSettings.xml to use these defaults as the basis for your customized file.

  4. In the Connection Details section, click Edit.

    The CA Connection Settings window appears.

  5. Complete the following fields in the dialog:
    Server Address

    Defines the IP address or host name of the Provisioning Server.

    Server Port

    Defines the port on which the Provisioning Server listens for unsecured communication.

    Server Secure Port

    Defines the port on which the Provisioning Server listens for unsecured communication. Select the Use Secure Connection checkbox to enable this field.

    Domain name

    Defines the domain name of the Provisioning Server.

    User name

    Defines the name of the user the connector uses to log in to the Provisioning Server.

    Password

    Defines the password the connector uses to log in to the Provisioning Server.The password is not saved in the settings XML file, and you must enter it each time you run or schedule a connector job.

    Use Secure Connection

    Specifies to use the Server Secure Port instead of the Server Port.

    Use TEWS Connection

    Specifies to use CA Identity Manager and set the TEWS connection details.

    Note: The TEWS connection is only used to export configuration changes to CA Identity Manager.

    Identity Manager Server Address

    Specifies the Identity Manager server IP address or host name.

    Identity Manager Server Port

    Specifies the port number on which the Identity Manager server listens.

    Identity Manager User Name

    Specifies the distinguished name of the Identity Manager public user.

    Identity Manager User Environment

    Specifies the name of the Environment within Identity Manager that you are connecting to.

  6. Click Save.

    Changes are saved to the file.

  7. To test the connection settings, click Initiate Connection to the server.

    The Test Connection succeeded label is highlighted in green to indicate successful connection to the target Identity Manager operating environment.
