CA Arcot Connector
This section describes how CA Identity Manager can provision users and manage credentials on CA Arcot endpoints.
CA Arcot WebFort
CA Arcot WebFort is an authentication server that supports the following types of credentials:
- Activation Code – Provisions a user with a single-use password for one-off authentication, such as activating the ArcotOTP account on a mobile device.
- ArcotOTP (mobile authentication) – Allows a user to generate a secure passcode with a mobile device.
- ArcotID – Generates a secure software token which the user can then download to their computer or phone. Arcot then authenticates the user based on the user’s password plus the ArcotID token on the user’s device.
- QnA (question and answer) – Allows a user to set up a list of security questions and answers. These questions and answers allow users to identify themselves when another form of authentication is unavailable (such as when a user has forgotten their password).
CA Arcot WebFort also allows the consuming application to use paired multiple credentials together to create a stronger authentication solution.
CA Arcot RegFort
RegFort issues digital certificates, which can then be downloaded to a user’s hardware token (such as their smartcard) or a user's software token (such as their ArcotID).
RegFort also manages the certificates that it has issued. The certificate actions that RegFort can do depends on which certificate authority you use. For example, if you use Microsoft Certificate Services, you can use RegFort to replace and revoke certificates.
To manage RegFort with CA Identity Manager, you must have WebFort, and RegFort must be set up to share UDS with WebFort.
