    Name

Indicates the name of the file or directory (if a single item was selected).

    Owner

Indicates the UNIX name of the owner of the file or directory. A unique parameter identifies the owner ID. To view this parameter, click the two-right-arrows button (>>).

    Group

Indicates the UNIX name of the group that is assigned to the directory or file. A unique parameter identifies the group ID. To view this parameter, click the two-right-arrows button (>>).

File type (if a single item was selected)

Describes the update behavior of the selected file, as follows:

    • standard file—The file is updated during a product update.
    • configuration file—The file is not updated during an update installation. The file content is unchanged, and configuration settings are restored.
    • temporary file—Temporary files are copied to the target computer at the time of the product installation, and are removed from the target computer when the product installation has finished.
    • permanent file—Permanent file is not deleted from the computer when the product is removed. The file remains on the computer after the removal of the product. If the permanent file exists on the computer before the product installation and the modification date of the existing file is newer than the file that is shipped with the product, the permanent file remains unchanged on the computer.
Access rights for files and directories

Indicates the UNIX access rights (Read, Write, Execute) of the selected files and directories. To set or delete access rights for the users User, Group, and Other, check or clear the appropriate check box.

  6. Click Change.

The changes are applied to the properties.
