Add New Files

You can create a new file using the standard editor (as specified on the Packager Properties dialog) and add this file to a component of your PIF package being packaged. Default values are automatically assigned to the file properties as soon as you save the file.

To create and add a new file

  1. Select the package on the project pane.
  2. Select the component to add the file.
  3. If you want to add the new file to an existing directory of the component, select this directory now in the file list.
  4. Right-click in the file list or the selected directory, and select New file from the context menu.

The Choose file name dialog appears and displays a list of directories and existing files.

  5. Select a directory to save the file, using the Look in drop-down list or by double-clicking a directory displayed.
  6. Enter the name for the new file and click Choose.

The standard editor opens and lets you enter any file content.

  7. Save the file and exit the editor.

The new file is added to the prototype file and appears as a new entry in the file list.
