Das Boot-Image-Verzeichnis "UNDI" kann DOS-Boot-Images wie "osinstal.2" und "osinstal.3" oder Beschreibungsdateien von Boot-Images, wie z.B. "winpe2.2" enthalten.

Es ist dennoch eine Sequenz mit mehreren Boot-Images möglich, sogar in Kombination mit DOS-Boot-Images. Z. B, winpe2.2, winpe2.3, winpe2.4, boothd.

Eine Beschreibungsdatei definiert eine Verknüpfung zum tatsächlichen Verzeichnis des WinPE2.2-Boot-Images, das mehrere Dateien enthalten kann.
