You can select from one of the following three installation types: New, Custom, or Web Tier.
Performing a new installation is the simplest way to deploy BusinessObjects Enterprise because all the required components are installed by default onto one computer.
The custom installation allows you to choose which components are installed. You may want to perform a custom installation if you plan to use BusinessObjects Enterprise in a distributed environment. This is recommended for advanced users.
Choose to perform a web applications installation if you want to install web application server components. This option installs the Web application components only. This is particularly useful for a distributed deployment.
