CA APM lets you copy an existing object (asset, model, site, directory, and legal document) and use the object as a template for creating another object that is similar. For example, you have two assets in which most of the information is the same, but the operating system, cost center, and GL code is different. You create a copy of the original asset, and change the information in the copy so that the repository has a unique instance of the asset.
To copy an object
A new object is created, based on the copied object.
The new object is saved to the repository.
