Add Components in a Model Configuration

CA APM lets you associate a hardware model to its component models to define a model configuration. A generic model is a model that is not acquired as an asset, for example, keyboards and network cards. Generic models comprise a model configuration. This configuration is available to the inherited assets from the model.

To add components in a model configuration

  1. Click Model.
  2. Search to find the list of available models.
  3. Click the model for which you want to add components.
  4. On the left, expand Configurations and click Model Configuration.
  5. Click Select New, search for and select a model.
  6. Click the Edit Record icon next to the model name to define the association between the hardware model and model components.
  7. Click Save.

    The model configuration is added.
