Step 2. Allocate and Initialize the New Database Files

  1. Allocate files for the new database. Use a standard space allocation job for your environment. Include the dataset names DDnames defined in the Create Alternate DMCL Segment section above and using the guidelines in Figure A.2, specify the correct number of blocks.

  1. Initialize the new database. Specify values for the following variables using source library member ESSAPPI as input to IDMSBCF. Keys to variables are contained in member ESSAPPI:

Note: Each CV can have only one File 3 (ESSFIL3, ESS-CTRLD-AREA). Therefore, do not include File 3 in this step.
