Internal Tracking Identifiers

CA IDMS SASO uses internal tracking numbers to uniquely identify chapters, subjects, and topics you add to your documents using the Add/Insert Structure utility (3.2).

Internal tracking identifiers are assigned at the chapter, subject, and topic levels for all components of a document.

Once internal tracking identifiers are defined, they remain unchanged. Structure modifications, renames, reorganizations, and application of maintenance do not alter internal tracking identifier definitions.

If you delete an existing chapter, subject, or topic from a document, however, the unique tracking identifier initially assigned to that structure is longer be present in your document and cannot be recreated.
