Reason:
The journal segment after an archive journal condense is smaller than the defined journal cushion size. This may be the result of long running transaction that is not issuing commits. Archive Journal is unable to remove the BFOR images for this transaction and as a result, the journals eventually fill.
This message is issued when a journal cushion has been defined and when writing a non-checkpoint record to a journal segment that is smaller than the cushion.
Writes to the journal that do not commit, finish, or abort the transaction will be held until the full journal condition can be resolved.
The transaction that has filled the journal must be identified and aborted or committed. Once the transaction is complete and the appropriate checkpoint record has been written to the journal, a journal swap should be initiated using the DCMT VARY JOURNAL command. This will allow Archive Journal to empty the full journal.
Usually when this happens all journal segments are smaller than the cushion and swapping to the new journal will not start the waiting transactions. Another DCMT VARY JOURNAL should be issued until the system is using an empty journal again. Then all waiting transactions should continue.
