During a CA IDMS DME session, the module you are editing is stored in the scratch area. If CA IDMS DME abends, the scratch area is unaffected and recovery is possible. If your system goes down, the scratch area is lost.
If you abend in edit mode you will be returned to the screen before you requested edit, but will not automatically invoke the edit.
