MOVE Command

MOVE source TO target

Where:

source and target may be any of the following:

• Fields in records
  • ERROR-STATUS
• CA IDMS DMLO KEYPADS (KEY0-KEY9)
• Figurative constants
  • SPACES, ZEROS
  • LOW-VALUES, HIGH-VALUES
• Subschema control entities
  • DBKEY, DIRECT-DBKEY
• Literals of all types
  • alpha 'HERE IS A LITERAL' or 'J' 'JONES'
  • numeric -123.45
  • hexadecimal X'005A2E0B
  • database key 20510-11
  • fullword F'5250571'

The generalized MOVE command, although not a CLIST-only command, provides a powerful capability for CLIST execution, and thus is included here.
