Network Membership Affects Operations

The operation of a CA IDMS DDS node is similar to that of any DC/UCF system. The node is started up in the same way and, for the most part, executes like a standard DC/UCF system. The differences that do exist are the result of the communication that takes place between the nodes. Because these systems participate in a network and can access databases other than their own, there are new considerations concerning how the network is managed, how application requests are processed, and how backup and recovery are performed.
