Resource Name Table

The ability to access multiple databases is inherent in the CA IDMS DDS. If multiple databases are to be controlled by the node, an entry for each database to be accessed must exist in the node's resource name table.

For convenience, generic names using wild cards are supported. Thus, PROD* could be used to specify all databases with names beginning with PROD.

The NODE table which is also part of the resource table identifies the communications method to use to access each node name in the DC/UCF communications network.

For more information about how to generate the resource name table and the node table in a CA IDMS system, see the RESOURCE TABLE and the NODE statements in the CA IDMS System Generation Guide.
