What You Can Do
You can retrieve occurrences of input fields that repeat a variable number of times.
How to Do It
- Define the group by coding one REC parameter with:
- An identifying name for the group of fields
- The start position
- The keyword GROUP
- A group identifier
- The total length of one occurrence of the group (in bytes), followed by a period (.)
- The name of the field in the fixed portion of the record that contains the number of occurrences of the group
- Define the elements of the group by coding a REC parameter for each element of the group with:
- The name of the element
- The start position within the group
- The length of the element
- The keyword ELMNT
- The identifier of the group
- Reference the elements by using explicit subscripts.
