Transfer the Update File to the Host Encyclopedia

Follow these steps:

1. Sign on to TSO and access ISPF.
2. File transfer UPDATE.TRN to a TSO data set entitled mytsoid.IEF.TRAN, using any software product. Depending on the product you use, possible parameters are:
   • Host encyclopedia name: mytsoid.IEF.TRAN
   • Workstation name: c:\ief\anyname.IEF\UPDATE.TRN
   • Data type: binary or data (ensures that file is transferred without translation from EBCDIC to ASCII)
   • Record format: VB
   • Record length: 4092
   • Block length: 4096
