Use Other Functions

All functions except the schema functions require you to either log on to an encyclopedia (for the local and remote encyclopedia read or Update APIs) or select a model (for the workstation API). The following sections describe how to log on to the Encyclopedia and select a model for the Workstation using API functions.

Follow these steps:

1. Select option 1 from the main menu to go to the Encyclopedia Functions.

   The following menu appears.

2. Use option 1 to connect to the encyclopedia. Enter the database parameters as they exist in the encyclopedia iefmd.ini file.
3. Use option 4 to enter the logon user ID.
