Common Properties

Most Public Interface views have columns representing these properties:

Name of Column (Property)

Function

MODEL_ID

Identifies the model that contains the object

TBNAME

Identifies the individual table (SQL view) name

ID

Identifies the object within the encyclopedia

ORG_ENCY_ID

Identifies the original encyclopedia of the object

ORG_ID

Identifies the original object

(ORG_ENCY_ID and ORG_ID let you trace the ancestry of an object if it has been copied.)

For example, the view ATTRIBUTE contains one row for every attribute of every entity type in every model. Each attribute has a column for MODEL_ID, TBNAME, ID, ORG_ENCY_ID, ORG_ID, and a foreign key (PARENT_ENTITY_ID) that identifies the entity type to which the attribute belongs. Each row also contains columns for the attribute’s properties, such as NAME, DSD_NAME, TYPE, and DOMAIN.

The following table contains some representative entries from the view ATTRIBUTE:
