To print the edit change log, which includes report and record formatting options, use the PRINTLOG command. Report capabilities include the following:
Each changed, inserted, or deleted record is printed individually and is identified with either an asterisk (*) or a greater-than sign (>). If the edited file is a VSAM file, the key displays above the changes. In character and multi-record format, changes are underlined with an asterisk. In single-record format the changed record is prefaced by a greater-than sign.
This report is printed to the SYSLIST DD statement. If SYSLIST is not allocated, the output is directed to the SYSPRINT DD statement.
You can specify a description of changes of up to three lines in the Description of Change field in the Change Log Data Set Processing panel. The PRINTLOG command prints the description lines to the change log report exactly as entered.
For a list of all the keywords the PRINTLOG command supports, see Keywords.
