Upgrade to Federation Manager r12.1 SP3 on Windows

If you are running Federation Manager on a Windows system, you can upgrade directly to Federation Manager r12.1 SP3 on the same operating system.

To run an existing configuration on Windows 2008, migrate the configuration; you cannot directly upgrade.

Note: You do not need to deactivate your partnerships before upgrading.

Upgrade Federation Manager by running the r12.1 SP3 Federation Manager installer executable. The upgrade preserves your previous Federation Manager configuration.

The installer is located on the Technical Support site.

Actions to Take if an Upgrade Error Occurs

If the database upgrade fails, Federation Manager displays an error message telling you to run the policy_store_upgrade script. The upgrade script (policy_store_upgrade.bat) is located in federation_mgr_home/install_config_info.

If you experience other problems during the installation, review the installation log file CA_Federation_Manager_InstallLog.log and the upgrade log file CA_Federation_policy_store_upgrade.log. Both files are the directory federation_mgr_home/install_config_info.
