Using the DYNAM Option

For COBOL programmers wishing to use the DYNAM option to generate dynamic subroutine linkage, make one call to GVFILDYN before attempting to call GVOPEN, GVREAD, or GVCLOSE. GVFILDYN loads GVFILE into memory and establishes the symbolic entry points so that the COBOL dynamic subroutine linkage will function as desired. After GVFILDYN has been called, the COBOL programmer can call GVOPEN, GVREAD, or GVCLOSE as needed.

Note: GVFILDYN and GVFILE must be in an active link list library.
