The COMPARE command verifies that the EXPORT file is readable and that every byte of data precisely matches the cluster just exported. You can run COMPARE immediately after EXPORT to ensure exact file content and length.
Note: Files unloaded with SAVECOMP cannot be compared as these files are not in a FAVER format.
To run COMPARE, use the same JCL and control statements used for a restore, but specify the COMPARE statement instead of the RESTORE statement.
