MERGIN

The MERGIN parameter provides an incremental backup option. MERGIN works differently for single and multiple backups.

Syntax

Operands

The MERGIN parameter is specified with the following operands:

Explanation

ddname

Identifies the DDname of an EXPORT file to be read during the merge processing.

CARRY

Tells EXPORT to copy clusters not updated since the export read from MERGIN was taken. If CARRY is omitted, these clusters are not copied from MERGIN to FVROUT.

DROP

Tells EXPORT not to copy clusters not updated since the export read from MERGIN was taken. If DROP is omitted, clusters are copied from MERGIN to FVROUT.
