The MERGIN parameter provides an incremental backup option. MERGIN works differently for single and multiple backups.

Operands
The MERGIN parameter is specified with the following operands:

Explanation |

ddname |
Identifies the DDname of an EXPORT file to be read during the merge processing. |
|
CARRY |
Tells EXPORT to copy clusters not updated since the export read from MERGIN was taken. If CARRY is omitted, these clusters are not copied from MERGIN to FVROUT. |
|
DROP |
Tells EXPORT not to copy clusters not updated since the export read from MERGIN was taken. If DROP is omitted, clusters are copied from MERGIN to FVROUT. |
