The Preserve VB record length option is added to the CA Endevor Quick-Edit Option panel. This option lets you specify whether the ISPF editor will preserve the record length of the record in a variable length file, when the data is saved in an ISPF edit session.
The element RECFM parameter is added to the Type definition. This parameter specifies whether the temporary CA Endevor Quick Edit ISPF edit data set's record length format is fixed, variable, or not defined. In foreground, you can specify the parameter value on the Type Definition panel using the ELE RECFM field. In batch, you can use the ELEMENT RECFM IS clause on the SCL statement Define Type.
Current Type definitions are updated to include the element RECFM parameter with a value of not defined. You can update this value as appropriate.
