Open a Model and Validate It

Before you forward-engineer a model, validate it to know the errors and rectify them. Validating a model is a best practice, regardless of how you created the model.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open the model that you want to forward-engineer.

    Note: For Logical/Physical models, switch to the Physical view.

  2. Click Actions, Forward Engineer, Check Model.

    The model validation report opens in a new window. The report includes a list of relevant corrupt objects or errors.

  3. [Optional] Click Save As.

    The report is saved in RTF format to an external file.

  4. Click Close.

    The report window closes.

  5. Modify the model to rectify the errors.
