Oracle Table Editor

In the physical model, you can create the following types of tables:

A table box has a horizontal line, which divides the box. You can enter the primary key above the line and non-keys below the line. You can choose to migrate keys to either the primary or non-key area of the box. Each table that you add graphically appears on the diagram window.

Use the following options and tabs in the Oracle Table Editor to define table properties. You can open the Oracle Table Editor by selecting Target - Oracle, Tables on the Model menu.

Positions the editor on the previous table in the Navigation Grid.

Positions the editor on the next table in the Navigation Grid.

property editor SORT icon Sort

Sorts the tables by alphabetic or reverse alphabetic order. You select the method you want using the drop-down menu that opens after you click the Sort button. Visual cues are provided for how the table list is currently sorted:

Specifies that the list is sorted in alphabetic order.

Property editor Reverse Alpha Sort Button

Specifies that the list is sorted in reverse alphabetic order.

Creates a new table that becomes the current object in the editor.

Deletes the selected table.

property editor DB SYNC button DB Sync

Opens the DB Sync wizard so you can perform a database level compare of objects in the current model with matching objects in another model.

Opens online help for the editor.

Lets you filter a very large list of tables in the Navigation Grid to quickly locate the table for which you need to view or define properties.

Physical Name

Specifies the physical name of the table. You can change the name of the table in this field.

Owner

Lets you assign a database Owner to the table.

Physical Only

Specifies whether the table should only appear in the physical model.

Generate

Generates SQL during forward engineering. Clear the check box if you do not want to generate SQL.

Table Options

Lets you specify options for the table such as sizing information, cache, row movement, and monitoring.

General

Lets you assign physical properties to a table such as table compression and index properties.

Partitions

Lets you specify physical partition values for the table.

Supplemental Logging

Lets you specify log groups and attach columns for logging.

Validation

Lets you specify validation rules and constraint state for the table.

Materialized View log

Lets you modify the properties for a materialized view log.

Style

Lets you work with style sheets, which are used to format the font and other graphical themes used in the display of the table.

Icon

Lets you specify the icon style to use for the table.

Synonym

Lets you add, modify, or delete synonyms for the table.

Comment

Lets you enter any comments that you want to associate with the table.

Object Creation Order

Lets you specify the order of DDL generation.

Where Used

Lets you view where the table is used in the model.

UDP

Lets you enter user-defined property values for a table.

Notes

View table history information and view or edit user notes.
