Define Oracle Default Values

The Oracle Default Value Editor is used for viewing and managing for default values.

The Navigation Grid and its toolbar are at the top section of the editor:

Previous

Positions the editor on the previous default value in the Navigation Grid.

Next

Positions the editor on the next default value in the Navigation Grid.

Sort

Sorts the default values by alphabetic or reverse alphabetic order. You select the method you want using the drop-down menu that opens after you click the Sort button. Visual cues are provided for how the default value list is currently sorted:

Specifies that the default value list is sorted in alphabetic order.

Specifies that the default value list is sorted in reverse alphabetic order.

New

Creates a new default value that becomes the current object in the editor.

Delete

Deletes the selected default value.

Help

Opens online help for the editor.

Lets you filter a very large list of default values in the Navigation Grid to quickly locate the default value for which you need to view or define properties.

Physical Name

Displays the physical default value name. You can change the default value name in this field using in-place editing.

Physical Only

Specifies to include the selected default value in the physical model only.

Oracle Tab

Lets you view and update database-specific information about the default value.

Comment Tab

Lets you enter text that provides comments about the default value. Use the toolbar to cut, copy, or paste text, open the Text Editor, or check spelling. The comment serves as internal documentation for your model.

Where Used Tab

Lets you view where the selected default value is used in the model.

UDP Tab

Lets you enter user-defined property values for the default value.

Notes Tab

Lets you view history information and view or edit user notes.
