Delete a Subject Area

You use the Subject Area Editor to delete subject areas in the current model. When you delete a subject area, only the current subject area is deleted. The entities, tables, and views in the subject area are not deleted from the model.

When you delete an entity, a table, or a view, you can choose to delete it from the model or the subject area. If you choose to delete this object from the current subject area, it is still available in any other subject areas in which you have included it.

To delete a subject area

  1. Click Subject Areas on the Model menu.

    The Subject Area Editor opens.

  2. Select the subject area that you want to delete from the Subject Area list, and click the Delete icon.

The selected subject area is removed from the Subject Area list.

Note: You can also expand Subject Areas in the Model Explorer, right-click the Subject Area that you want to delete and click Delete.

  3. Click Close.

Your changes are saved and the Subject Area Editor closes.
