Define a DB2 z/OS Schema
A schema provides a logical classification of objects in a database. The schema name is used as the qualifier for SQL object names such as tables, views, indexes, and triggers.
To define a DB2 for z/OS Schema
- Right-click a Schema in the Model Explorer and select Properties.
The DB2 for z/OS Schema Editor opens.
- Select a schema and work with the following options:
Note: Click New
on the toolbar to create a schema. Use the Enter filter text text box to filter a large list of schemas to locate the one you want to work with.
- Name

Specifies the name of the schema.
- Generate
-
Specifies whether or not to generate DDL for this object during Forward Engineering.
- Click the Permissions tab and select a permission to associate with the schema. You can create a permission or click the Permissions Editor icon to open the DB2 for z/OS Permissions Editor.
- (Optional) Click the Comment tab and enter any comments you want associated with the schema.
- (Optional) Click the Where Used tab to view where the schema is used in the model.
- (Optional) Click the UDP tab to work with user-defined properties for the schema.
- (Optional) Click the Notes tab to view history information and view or edit user notes.
- Click Close.
The schema is saved and the DB2 for z/OS Schema Editor closes.
