Define Data Movement Rules for a Table

Use the Data Movement Rule tab in the Table Editor to specify data movement rules for a table.

Note: Ensure that you have enabled data movement modeling in the Model Editor.

To define data movement rules for a table

  1. Click Tables on the Model menu.

    The Table Editor opens.

  2. Select the table in the Navigation Grid for which you want to specify data movement rules.

    Note: Use the Enter filter text box to filter a very large list of tables to quickly locate the one that you need.

  3. Click the Data Movement Rule tab and work with the following options:
    Refresh Rule

    Lets you select a refresh data movement rule for the selected table.

    Append Rule

    Lets you select an append data movement rule for the selected table.

    Backup Rule

    Lets you select a backup data movement rule for the selected table.

    Recovery Rule

    Lets you select a recovery data movement rule for the selected table.

    Archive Rule

    Lets you select an archiving data movement rule for the selected table.

    Purge Rule

    Lets you select a purge data movement rule for the selected table.

    Note: If you need to create a new data movement rule, click the New icon in property editors to create a new object button to open the Data Movement Rule Editor.

  4. Click Close.

    Data movement rules are defined and the Table Editor closes.
