Use the Auto Hide option to hide a selected pane as a tab on the edge of the main workplace window. This feature is slightly different than the View, Windows option, in which you can select to remove the display of a pane from the workplace.
To auto hide a workplace pane
on the edge of the pane that you want to hide.
The pane appears as a tab at the corresponding edge of the main window and the pin tilts 
to indicate that the pane is not pinned any more.
