Close the Editor

When you finish working in either the Data Type Standards Editor or the Naming Standards Editor either locally or from within a mart, you can close the editor and exit. The Close Model dialog lets you select how to close and options for saving your changes.

Note: The mart must be initialized before you can save a model to a mart.

To close the editor

1. Click Exit on the File menu in either the Data Type Standards Editor or the Naming Standards Editor.

   The Close Model dialog opens.

2. Select one of the following close options:

   Save to Mart

   Saves the changes to the mart. This option is available only when there are differences between your local copy and the master version of the model.

   Save as .nsm/.dsm file

   Saves the file as a .nsm or .dsm file. You can merge your changes back to the mart later.

   Close without saving

   Closes without saving changes.

   Keep Mart Model Lock

   Retains the lock on the currently active diagram in the mart after closing the file.

3. Click OK.

   The editor closes.
