Create Teradata Global Persistent Data Sets

You can define a global and persistent (GLOP) data set in a Teradata physical model that uses Teradata 13 as the database. For more information on GLOP, see the Teradata documentation.

To create a global persistent data set

  1. Right-click Global Persistent Data Set on the Model Explorer and click New.

    The Teradata Global Persistent Data Set Editor opens.

  2. Work with the following options:

    Note: Click New New icon in property editors to create a new object on the toolbar to create a new name. Use the Enter filter text text box to filter a very large list of global persistent data sets to quickly locate the one you want to work with.

    Name

    Specifies the name of the GLOP data set.

    Database

    Specifies the database to associate with the GLOP data set. Select a database from the drop-down list.

    Generate

    Generates DDL for this object during Forward Engineering.

  3. (Optional) Click the Comment tab and enter any comments you want associated with the global persistent data set.
  4. (Optional) Click the Where Used tab to review where the global persistent data set is used in the model.
  5. (Optional) Click the UDP tab to work with user-defined properties for the global persistent data set.
  6. (Optional) Click the Notes tab to view history information and view or edit user notes.
  7. Click Close.

    The Teradata Global Persistent Data Set Editor closes.
